Once there

AccommodationHotels mentioned on description are given for information purposes.
The accommodations which we selected are charming hotels. They are always small structures with little capacity, a warm welcome and situated in a privileged environment.

It is in these establishments that we shall make the reservations. It is possible that one of these hotels is complete at the time of the reservation; in this case we shall look for accommodation in a hotel of equivalent category and price.

You will be kept informed if this situation appears.

On our journeys, accommodation is in double room (1 double bed) or twin (2 single beds).
The persons registering alone are brought to share a twin room. A single room is possible on request or in case of odd number of participant in the group. In these 2 cases the single room supplement will apply..

MealsOur trips are scheduled:

  • either in Bed & Breakfast (breakfast),
  • or half-board (breakfast + dinner),
  • or full board (breakfast + lunch + dinner).

To facilitate the organization, especially when hiking in the park, some lunches are included.

Meals not included in the program are payable locally by the traveller directly to the hotelier or restaurateur.

Price of a meal:

  • between 8 and 15 € at the hotel or restaurant.
  • between 4 and 5 € in a small local restaurant.

Transport Transports during your trip are 4×4 vehicles, van or bus depending on the number of participants. Many of our routes presented on this site require necessarily 4×4 because of the state of the borrowed tracks. Our 4×4 vehicles are equipped for 4 passengers + the driver / guide.

On certain routes, our big Land Cruiser can transport 5 passengers + the driver / guide.
Malagasy Tours possesses its own vehicle fleet. We provide you with a dozen 4×4 Toyota Land Cruiser as well as 2 minibuses Mercedes Sprinter. For the big logistics we move our 4×4 trucks Mercedes 1017 and Unimog.

Most of our vehicles are equipped with the air conditioning, with the luggage rack and the reader CD. It is possible to recharge batteries of your cameras or phones on cars cigarettes lighters.

We invite you to see our park vehicles.

Your equipment

Your equipmentTentative List: pairs of shorts, T-shirts, cotton shirts, linen pants, pullovers, jacket spring, rainy cape, tennis, flip-flops, swimsuit, hat, sunglasses, sunblock, twin, frontal piles, lamp.

We also recommend you to bring some product anti-mosquito, according to the season and the region, this can be useful.

For the small hikes, plan a good pair of walking shoes.
For treks, luggage will not have to exceed 15 kg..

The management of the water

The water managementOur vehicles are equipped with jerry cans of water. It is important that you are equipped with a gourd.

We suggest you to treat your water to drink with pastilles of purificatory products as Micropur Fort, Aquatabs or equivalent.

There is also a possibility of buying in cities and big villages some mineral water in bottle.

The supply of mineral water is not included in the price of your trip.

Empty plastic bottles management raises a major problem of pollution, Madagascar not being equipped with device allowing the recycling. This is why we recommend the use of pastilles.

Gifts or donations

Gifts or donationsConcerning the donations you wish to make during your journey to the population and more particularly to the children, we have on this subject a politics which is more general and which aims to be sustainable and long-lasting. We do not wish, by gifts or one-time donations, to create habits, dependences and relations which economically and humanely would be harmful for the person receiving this gift.

We collaborate for several years with ASA, very effective humanitarian organization based in Tana. The members of ASA are involved in social reintegration and landless farmers. They manage the return in the campaign of deprived families from Tana. This NGO needs a help in material, but also financial.

Speak about it to your guide; he will accompany you in your approach.

You will find all the necessary information on the actions of ASA on the web site: www.asa-madagascar.org.
Malagasy Tours also provides logistical support to “CLOWNS SANS FRONTIERES” during their missions in Madagascar. We provide them with vehicles, drivers and fuel. If you want to give them a hand, you can drop a few euros or Ariary in the “piggy bank” that we opened in early 2014 and that we will break for the next mission.

Travel responsible

Travel responsableYou have to contribute to the conservation of unique ecosystems of Madagascar, by paying attention on your waste.

Every visitor is responsible for the cleanliness and for the condition of the sites which he crosses.

So it is necessary to be focused to leave the landscape as pristine as we had the pleasure to discover it.
So, we invite you to take away with you your batteries, tubes and plastic packaging.

Be also attentive no to buy product which encourages the illicit business of endangered species.
