These “COMFORT HIKING” trips allow you to go hiking on the main spots of Madagascar without having to sleep in a tent. All nights are at the hotel near the sites visited.
To visit Diego-Suarez is to discover a unique concentration of Yemeni, Somali, Chinese, Indian and Bantu origins. We hike in the freshness of the Montagne d’Ambre national park, populated by lemurs, birds, butterflies…
The walk to the 3 Bays is a delight. We walk on the beach until we arrive at Cap Miné with a view of the Emerald Sea. The Tsingy Rouge at the foot of the eroded canyons contrast with the surprising geological formations of the Ankarana National Park and the discovery of Malagasy rural life on the banks of the Sambirano River.
For our last stopover, we land in the enchanting setting of Nosy Be, the Island of Perfumes.

Day 1: Antananarivo > Diego Suarez
Flight towards the North of Madagascar.
Your guide welcomes you at Diego Suarez airport and accompanies you for a walk in town, towards the always lively market and the port inside the immense bay. Diego the nonchalant, a little drowsy under an often oppressive heat. Here the pace is slow, the atmosphere relaxed, you quickly get used to this atmosphere of northern Madagascar.
NB: Depending on the domestic flight schedule, the program for this day may be modified.

Day 2: The Three Bays on the Indian Ocean
We follow the Montagne des Français to reach the Three Bays. A beautiful pedestrian route allows us to connect the bays of Dunes, Pigeons and Sakalava.
The pass that separates the immense Bay of Diego and the Indian Ocean is very close, we are now at Cap Miné.
This place is steeped in history, the vestiges of the French presence are still visible.
We then stroll on the beautiful beaches of Orangéa and Ramena.
Return to the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 3: Visit of the Montagne d’Ambre national park
Accompanied by a guide from the park, we hike through the lush forest. This park is home to exceptional vegetation with tree ferns, palm trees, orchids, many exotic species, while beautiful alleys of conifers line the track leading to the forest station. Waterfalls, crater lakes adorn our walk. And of course, the Malagasy fauna with the friendly lemur. We meet the crowned lemur, that of Sanford. 7 species share the area. We also get to know chameleons, geckos and other uroplatus. The birds in the park are as numerous as they are colorful.
In the afternoon it is possible to walk back down to our lodge.
NB: the pace and duration of the walk depends on the participants (minimum 2 hours). Your guide will advise you.

Day 4: Diego Suarez > Red Tsingy > Ankarana
We leave the village of Joffreville for the Ankarana National Park.
Then we branch off along the way to take a look at the Red Tsingy. The geological history of this formation is the same as that of the Tsingy of Ankarana, but with a few thousand years of difference. The others are calcareous, those are friable earth. We return to the main road to reach the village of Mahamasina at the entrance to the Ankarana National Park.

Days 5 & 6: The Tsingy of Iharana
An old coral reef, water, wind and quite a bit of weather, here is the result, a limestone massif like a stone forest!
Accompanied by a local guide, we set off to explore the site. We hike, in the morning, by a sometimes difficult walk, through the Tsingy with sharp edges and in the caves.
We offer different walks for these 2 days. The choice is vast with a long excursion in the Tsingy, a quiet canoe trip, a mountain bike excursion near the Sakalava villages, a sunset cocktail at the belvedere with a splendid view of the region, a night visit in search of mouse lemurs .

Day 7: Iharana > Ambilobe > Ambanja
Breakfast at the hotel. We stop at the big village of Ambilobe where the market is always very active in the morning. stroll around the market and towards the Mahavavy river where there too the activity is always important. The region is also famous for its sugar cane, and therefore for its local rum. Our road to Ankify crosses fields of coffee, cocoa and ylang-ylang. We take the time to stop to discover these plantations and this method of cultivation. At the end of the day we reach the small town of Ambanja

Day 8: Hike in the Sambirano Valley
In the north-west of Madagascar, between Nosy Be and Diego Suarez, the town of Ambanja and its surroundings, many surprises in store for you, a guaranteed change of scenery…
Hike in the heart of immense plantations of cocoa, coffee, pepper, vanilla, ylang-ylang and vetiver, we dive into the valley of perfumes, off the beaten track, as close as possible to an exuberant nature and a population with an unequaled smile.
This region nestled in the hollow of lush greenery, along the Sambirano river between sea and mountains, will enchant you with its peaceful atmosphere and its paths lined with tall trees.

Day 9: Ambanja > Ankify > Nosy Be
In the early morning, we board a speedboat for a 45-minute crossing towards Hellville, the capital of Nosy Be. We pass between the islands of Komba and Tanikely.
By taxi we reach our hotel by the sea where we arrive for lunch.
Installation in your bungalows and free afternoon.
We invite you to leave your hotel to meet the Nosybeans.
The population here is quiet and warm. Evening at the hotel.
Your guide accompanies you to the hotel reception. He is not present during your stay in Nosy Be.

Days 10 and 11: Days at leisure in Nosy Be
Many possible activities from the hotel: water sports, fishing, island hopping and sea trips, scuba diving or boating. apnea, rental of motorbikes and bicycles.
The islands of Nosy Komba and its fishing village and Nosy Tanikely, one of Madagascar’s underwater parks, are very close. A day of visit is a real pleasure! The reception of your hotel will be able to advise you and direct you for all these activities.
At the end of the day, we recommend a walk to Mont Passot which offers a superb panorama over the whole island at sunset or simply lazing by the sea.
Day 12: Nosy Be > Antananarivo
Free morning and transfer to the airport organized by the hotelier.
Flight towards the Malagasy capital.
